The Company Commercial department at Wake Smith LLP, gives his review on another successful year at the 2011 MADE: Festival.
This year's speakers certainly made an impressive line up with Dr Vince Cable MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills speaking alongside former Apprentice candidate Claire Young and BBC dragon Peter Jones, CBE.
I was particularly impressed at the entrepreneur survey meeting, held at the end of the week. The panel were excellent, most notably John Graham, Chief Executive of Sheffield firm Go Outdoors. The outtake for the event was to ensure that your business vision is clear and that customer engagement is key - important messages for businesses in the current economic climate, who may understandably be tempted to take shortcuts or make efficiencies which distract from developing good customer relationships.
It is important, now more than ever, that entrepreneurs are encouraged, inspired and supported.
With a long history of advising successful high growth start-ups, the Local Enterprise Unit at Wake Smith LLP is keen to further support those seeking advice and assistance, or those starting up or looking to grow their business.
I'm extremely proud that this event continues to thrive in the city and it is to the credit of Marketing Sheffield, CreativeSheffield and other forward thinking individuals that this festival continues to gain national attention.
2011 MADE: Festival will leave a welcomed lasting legacy for businesses in the region to grow and prosper.
