On 30th April 2015, Barry Gregory, Director in the Commercial Property Department, will be retiring after over 37 years of service as a solicitor. Barry started his career at Clegg & Sons, formerly of Figtree Lane, qualifying initially as a Legal Executive and then, in 1977, as a solicitor, and becoming a Partner in 1978. Clegg & Sons merged with Benson Flint, formerly of Wilkinson Street, to become Benson Clegg in 2000. In 2006, Benson Clegg merged with Wake Smith and Barry joined the merged firm. He has considerable experience in a wide range of property work including:
- landlord and tenant
- secured lending
- land and property sales and purchases
- disposals of residential property
- business sales and purchases
Barry also advises on transactions in the healthcare sector and those involving pension schemes. His expertise and commitment to client service have enabled him to retain a number of major clients throughout his career and to pass these on to other members of the property team, for which we are very grateful. Barry has enjoyed a distinguished career in Sheffield and served its business community very well and he has continually moved with the times so that he has always been able to offer the best service to his clients. It has been a pleasure for us here at Wake Smith to have been able to work with him during the last phase of his career. Congratulations Barry, and enjoy your retirement!
