What was your first job? Barman in Aviemore.
What did you think you would be when you grew up? I’m still not sure what I want to do when I grow up.
Where is the best place to go for office gossip? I sit next to John Baddeley, he hoovers up gossip on his daily wander.
What is the best thing about your job? Completing deals and golf days.
What is the worst thing about your job? Reading legislation and golf days in the rain.
What and where is your favourite restaurant? Sambuca Two Tables in Stone Town, Zanzibar (the name is misleading as it had 6 tables and was like eating in someone’s front room) and Chartier in Paris (cheap, cheerful and good fun watching surly French waiters who write your order on the paper table cloth and throw food & wine at you).
What book are you reading? I like travelling so I’ve got a pile of Lonely Planet Guides next to my bed (currently includes Russia, Southern Africa, Scandinavia, Cambodia/Laos/Vietnam and Myanmar).
If you were stranded on a desert island, which two luxury items would you take? Golf clubs & scuba gear.
If a film was being made of your life, who would you want to play you and why? Steve McQueen as he’d not need too much make up to look like me
Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with? Anyone who is either a complainer/whinger and/or a self-opinionated pillock.
Which 3 celebrities would you invite to your perfect dinner party (alive or dead)? Elle McPherson, Claudia Schiffer and Cameron Diaz. Not fussed what we eat.
What do you enjoy in your spare time? Golf, kids, golf, gardening, golf, walking & golf.
Who is your hero and why? I don’t have anyone in particular, I tend to be inspired by someone when I read or watch a film/documentary about them.
