Meet the Personal Injury team

Wake Smith Solicitors 10 January 2017

Personal Injury

In the face of a changing personal injury market, dominated by ever restricting legislation and cost recovery constraints led by the Government, the personal injury team at Wake Smith continues to adapt to the requirements of its sector and remain consistent in the volume and value of cases, attracting a nationwide portfolio of clients.

Occupational illness work continues to yield high value, complex and unusual cases while incidents in the workplace and retail environment provide regular instructions.

How do I know if I have a potential claim for a personal injury?

Our team of experienced lawyers will advise you quickly on whether you can make a claim. Most personal injury claims will settle without going to court. However, if you need to take your claim to court we are highly experienced at all levels of the court system, through to the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and we have also had success with cases in the European Court of Justice.

What type of personal injury incidents and accidents do you have experience of helping with?

Our experience covers all types of accident and illness, including road traffic accidents (pedestrian, car, motorbike, bus, or bicycle); work place accident or illness; accidents in public places and on highways (including trips, slips); accidents on private property; noise induced hearing loss; asbestos related illness; occupational stress, injuries through the use of faulty products; injuries involving children; head, spinal cord and other serious injury claims; sports injuries; accidents caused by animals and fatal accident claims.

Recent instructions included claims involving substantial damages for post-traumatic stress disorder after witnessing a serious accident in the workplace; for injuries sustained following workplace accidents and damages for an assault on a teaching assistant by a pupil.

Why use the Wake Smith personal injury team?

In the current market of online and supermarket-style legal advice and increased marketing, the Personal Injury team prides itself on maintaining a personal 1:1 service with its clients.

Most new cases are acquired through word of mouth, personal recommendations from previous clients and online profiling in a market which has seen many similar departments at other practices go to the wall. Our longstanding and successful accident claims and work related illness division offers a no win, no fee agreement.
