Education: I went Myrtle Springs Secondary School then onto Norton College to take A Levels. I then went to a secretarial college whilst I decided what my options were.
Work History: I started a work placement as an office assistance at Michael Archer & Co solicitors. I was taken on and then promoted to a secretary within 6 months. I left after two years to go to Taylors Solicitors which I really didn’t like and only stayed for a year. I then worked at Irwin Mitchell from 1997 until 2002 when I joined Wake Smith and have been here ever since.
What was your first job? I had a variety of jobs whilst at college to help pay my way but my very first was on an ice cream van. I wasn’t very good as I used to give ice creams and lollies away when kids didn’t have enough money (plus I ate all the flakes!)
What did you think you would be when you grew up? I like medical dramas so I thought I was going to be a nurse.
Where is the best place to go for office gossip? Definitely the kitchen
What is the best thing about your job? Helping people to buy their first home.
What is the worst thing about your job? When client’s timescales cannot be achieved due to circumstances outside my control.
What and where is your favourite restaurant? I don’t like fancy food so a nice carvery or pizza would make me happy. I like Elmwood farm as they do amazing cakes
What book are you reading? I’m currently reading Voyager by Diana Gabaldon
If you were stranded on a desert island, which two luxury items would you take? My mobile phone and my daughter to keep me sane.
If a film was being made of your life, who would you want to play you and why? I’d love Rebel Wilson as I think she is really funny and I don’t like to take life too seriously.
Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with? Russell Brand as I find him incredibly irritating.
Which 3 celebrities would you invite to your perfect dinner party (alive or dead)? Freddie Mercury to entertain us, Stephen Fry as I love his view on life and Sam Heughan as I love his accent
What do you enjoy in your spare time? I like to bake and read and spend time with my family. I also like to go out for meals and drinks with my friends and family.
Who is your hero and why? Very cheesy but my mum. She’s had a lot of bad times in her life but she’s managed to bring myself and my siblings up single handed and I think we turned out ok.
