A favourite Sheffield family bakery has expanded its operations with a fifth store serving the south-west of the city.
Roses The Bakers' latest outlet for its award-winning range of bread, confectionery, savoury pies and sandwiches is in Fulwood, one of Sheffield's prime residential districts, and close to the student hotspots of Walkley and Crookes.
The firm, which has shops in Ecclesall Road, Atlas Way, Crosspool and Millhouses, employed Wake Smith Solicitors to provide the legal advice for its expansion, which builds on 70 years of supplying baked goods to the city's residents.
Mark Johnstone, general manager at Roses the Bakers, said: “Our decision to take on premises at Fulwood is due to its superb location in one of the city's most affluent areas, which is also bustling with students.
“The shop was formerly the Fulwood Post Office, which we used to supply with a range of bread and confectionery, so we already have an established market for our produce.
“Once we heard that the post office was closing down, we stepped in to take on the remainder of the lease on the property, which will run for seven years.
“The Fulwood shop stocks all of our signature speciality breads, cakes and pastries as well as selling real coffee from Cafeology, freshly made sandwiches including a classic roast pork and a wide variety of salads and other snacks.”
“The shop has undergone a full refurbishment and is reporting a very busy first week of trading.”
Tom Weightman, solicitor at Wake Smith, said: “Roses the Bakers is almost an institution in Sheffield and is well renowned for its high quality produce
“It is quite appropriate that Wake Smith, which is a long established Sheffield company, could help another established Sheffield business with its expansion plans.”
The new Roses the Bakers shop is located at 5 Brooklands Avenue in Fulwood, alongside a range of established independent shops, restaurants and public houses.
