Sheffield-based law firm Wake Smith Solicitors has recruited two experienced conveyancing specialists into their busy residential conveyancing team.
Jo Chan joins as a fee earner while Thomas McLoughlin has taken a position as a conveyancing assistant in the existing 15-strong team headed up by recently appointed Head of Residential Conveyancing operations, Bonita Wolfenden.
Law graduate Jo, who has seven year’s experience working in conveyancing at regional solicitors rising from a legal assistant to handling her own caseload, is an Associate member of Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (ACILEX) currently studying level 6 CILEX.
Thomas started his career at Beaumont Legal in 2014 and has worked in similar conveyancing assistant roles in law firms across Yorkshire. Thomas is looking to progress his career with the Wake Smith team which specialises in all aspects of freehold and leasehold residential conveyancing including re-mortgages, transfer of equity’s and re-mortgage work.
Jo and Thomas will both be based in the Sheffield office and will work under the supervision of experienced Director Amanda Cowley. Amanda Cowley said: “The property market remains busy for us at Wake Smith, and Jo and Thomas join the team at an exciting time as the department focuses on improving processes. Wake Smith's residential conveyancing department is accredited to the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).
