Wake Smith Solicitors’ corporate advice on the MBO of Sheffield-based designers and manufacturers of stainless steel building products, Wincro Metal Industries Ltd, has won an industry award.
The company commercial team at Wake Smith teamed up with accountants Shorts and funders Virgin Money to advise on the MBO.
Wake Smith’s legal work included acting on the sale and purchase agreement for John Young, a Director of Wincro, who became the new managing director, buying out the other shareholders, and dealing with the financing/security documents with Virgin Money.
The MBO won the Deal of the Year over £10m at Insiders’ South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2023, which recognised the region’s leading banking, funding, legal and accountancy communities and the best deals they were involved in.
